Silentrainer empowers you to create engaging playlists by combining various media elements. Playlists are ordered sequences of media files, designed to guide your clients through workouts, share information, or display announcements.
You have two primary sources for playlist content:
- Silentrainer’s Exercise Database: Access over 200 professionally produced exercise videos that can be effortlessly integrated into your playlists.
- Your Custom Media: Upload and incorporate your own videos and images.
Types of Playlist Items
Each item in a playlist can be either a video or an image, with specific customization options:
- Video Items:
- Repetitions: You can set how many times a video (e.g., an exercise demonstration) should repeat. This is useful for defining the number of repetitions for an exercise.
- Image Items:
- Duration: You can specify how long an image should be displayed before the playlist transitions to the next item.
Orientation and camera angle
Silentrainer supports flexibility in how your media is displayed:
- Orientation (Videos & Images): Both videos and images can be displayed in landscape or portrait orientation. This is particularly useful for our exercise database, where we offer many exercises in both formats. You can choose the orientation that best suits your display setup and how it’s mounted.
- Camera Angles (Exercise Videos): To ensure clients see correct form, our exercise videos are recorded from multiple camera angles. You can choose the angle that best displays the exercise:
- Front
- Side
- Overhead
- Back
- Low Angle
This multi-angle approach allows you to highlight specific details of an exercise.
Playback Speed (Video Items)
For each video item in a playlist, you can adjust the playback speed.
Increments: 0.25 steps
This feature allows you to slow down complex movements for clarity or speed up simpler transitions.
Range: 0.25 (slower) to 2.00 (faster)
Focus and equipment categories
To help you build targeted workouts, our exercise videos are categorized by:

Filtering and Selection:
An exercise can involve multiple focus areas and types of equipment. When creating or editing your playlist, you can filter and select exercises based on these categories, choosing single or multiple values for both focus and equipment.
Playlist Name & Description
When you create a new playlist, you are required to give it a Name.
- Description (Optional): You can also add a short description. This is useful for your internal notes or to provide more context about the playlist’s purpose.
Important: The Playlist Name and Description are for your organizational purposes within the Silentrainer dashboard and will not be displayed to the public on client screens.
